Weekend Workouts + Recap

Hi friends. Hope you had a good weekend! Mine was pretty good and including some working out, scooping, brunching and shopping.

Friday I was super unmotivated after working at the hospital but I really wanted to get a sweat in so I sucked it up and threw my sneaks on. My motto was “something is better than nothing.” I jogged for a mile and then did a few intervals. I was wiped and hungry so I hopped off and scooted home to watch Little Miss Sunshine with the roomies and chow down on a greek salad and a slice of pizza. Mmmmm, pizza.

Saturday morning Monica and I went to a Body Pump class. I’m really getting excited about strength training but can get intimated, which is why I was so happy to have a buddy to come with me! The class was an hour long and is set to different tracks. Each track focuses on a different muscle area. (One track for lunges/squats, another for curls/presses). Let me tell you, those Body Pump chicks don’t eff around. I immediately knew they were no non-sense when like half the girls in there were wearing gloves. That’s badass. The class was a lot of fun and I’m already planning on going back this week, but about 45 minutes in I thought my shoulders were going to burn off my body and I was done. After I recovered (read: drank a latte and cried in the shower) I met some of my best friends, Shannon and Haley for brunch, watched the first half of the Pat’s game with G, scooped ice cream, then drank wine and practiced crow in my living room. (Crow is a yoga pose for you non-yogis.)

Sunday morning I woke up and told G I needed eggs benedict STAT or else I would die. (I tend to be dramatic when I’m hypoglycemic.) After I was fed and caffinated, we walked around Newbury St and I accidentally bought more Lululemon. When I got home, Monica was heading to the gym so I tapped into her motivation and tagged along!

Monica and I attempted to do abs but really just rolled around and then left. But before that, I completed *most* of the work out I had planned below.

I was super pooped after those sprints. I don’t know if my huge breakfast was catching up with me or if we walked farther than I realized yesterday afternoon, but that last mile was more of a walk….. Okay, okay, a complete walk. Anyways, I went home and spoiled myself with a salad from Sweet Green that I picked up when we were downtown and a Maine Beer Co beer.

Unfortunately when I settled on the couch to unwind with a glass of wine (Yes, I drink beer. And wine. In the same night. Judge me, I dare you.) I got this text showing a leak at the ice cream store…

So obviously I had to put the bottle down (kidding! kind of…) and scoot to the store. Thankfully it was resolved by the time I got there but I was panicked when I saw that picture!

This morning I was tired. I have such a tough time going to bed on time and not hitting snooze in the morning. Any tips? By the time I got moving, I wanted to hit the gym and grocery store before work. I only had about twenty minutes to exercise so I flew through two rounds of the workout I shared last week.

Then I went to the grocery store to stock up on some goodies for some paleo creations this week! Stay tuned… Peace!
